There is an article in Newsweek that appears to say that there is a serious erosion of confidence in our country's economic prospects.
Apparently, "uncertainty" looms large. We actually don't know for sure, because the article mentions Japan in the first paragraph and we really don't pay much attention to the travails of non-English speaking foreigners so we didn't "read" it in the classic sense.
This does seem like a good opportunity to remind our readers of our basic investment staregy in the New New Economy. You want to allocate your investments as follows:
33% - Be aggressive and take risks. The New New Economy is no
place for Nancy-boys. If it sounds like a winning proposition, follow your
gut. And remember, the SEC is busy. They can't see EVERYTHING that goes
on. (You didn't here that last part from us.)
50% - Conservative investments like blue chip stocks and bonds.
These are boring, but like a good batch of corn liquor, they will never let
you down.
25% - Really, really conservative investments. As in hording gold
and spam. Revelations is pretty clear about whats coming and the writings
on the wall. If there's a rapture, you'll be ready. If not...well..if you
think its not coming you are going to hell anyway so investments are the
least of your worries.
