The Poetry of Business
The First Part in an On-going Series
Today's poem comes from no other than the highly esteemed poet economist John Maynard Keynes. Written during his ungraduate days at Swarthmore, Mr. Keynes penned his now classic,"Ode to the Governor of Alabama's Daughter".
If I were the King of the Economy
would you look into my eyes?
Differently?
Would you be my laise faire Queen
your large bazoombas
protruding
like diamonds
like new jersey
like some big bazoombas?
Oh you, of noble class
daughter of a Man of State
daughter of a Woman of Man
I hate the South
where the wind
never blows cold enough
to show you
beneath a tight
tight
sweater
