THE TED WILLIAMS STORY: PART 2

As an update to yesterday's entry on Ted Williams, it has been reported that Larry Ellison is, in fact, the highest bidder to buy the deceased slugger's cranium. However, tradgedy struck this morning when Teddy Baseball's melon fell out of its Fed Ex box as it was being delivered to the Oracle CEO and rolled down the hill in front of the company's offices. It bounced quickly down the street and through the window of a passing taxicab, but sadly, not before bowling over and critically injuring a little Chicano girl. Frantic calls to bay area taxi services inquiring as to whether Ted Williams' head has turned up have not proved fruitful, but Oracle's stock has not suffered. Quite frankly, we find the whole thing distasteful. Welcome to the New New Economy.
