Second-generation racer Daison Pursley was a 17-yearold Toyota Development driver from the stable of Keith Kunz Motorsports in 2021. With seven national event wins, Daison was on the verge of great achievement in racing.

That all appeared to change in the fall when a horriific flip at Arizona Speedway left him with a major spinal injury.

Like his entire family, Daison’s strong personal conviction maintained his compass. By January, he was able to attend the Chili Bowl at the Tulsa Exposition Center in his home state. He walked in to a thunderous standing ovation. Yet, months of rehabilitation remained before him.

Pursley’s motivation in the grueling hours of physical therapy was the goal of returning to racing. He made his first laps in the summer of 2022 and on September 4, he won the POWRi feature at Missouri’s Lake Ozark Speedway.

Daison Pursley’s incredible on-track ability is matched only by his internal resolve.
