Austin Prock capped off the NHRA Fall Nationals weekend with a runner-up finish in Top Fuel Sunday at Texas Motorplex after starting from the number one qualifying position. Robert Hight advanced to the semifinals while John Force and Brittany Force had second round exits.

After securing the first number one qualifying position of his career, Austin Prock took a first-round win over Alex Laughlin. In the second round, Prock would defeat Leah Pruett to advance to the semifinals against Top Fuel veteran and three-time champion Antron Brown. In a great side-by-side race, Prock’s 3.681 would defeat Brown’s 3.689 to advance to the final round. Facing rival and points leader Justin Ashley in the final round, Prock would go up in tire smoke at the hit to give Ashley the win.

Robert Hight leaves the Texas NHRA Fall Nationals maintaining the Funny Car points lead after entering race day in the number two spot and racing to the semifinals. En route, Hight would defeat Jack Wyatt in the opening round, then Paul Lee in the second round. In the semifinals, Hight would smoke the tires early, giving the win to eventual race winner Ron Capps.

Brittany Force put on a spectacular qualifying show despite starting from the number three position. On race day, Force opened the day with a track speed record run of 336.30 mph to defeat Buddy Hall.  In the second round, Force’s race day would end early with a hole shot lost against Shawn Langdon.

John Force and the PEAK Chevrolet took on Cruz Pedregon in the first round of eliminations. Force would come out on the winning side with a 3.925-second pass and 0.050-second reaction time to defeat his long-time rival’s 3.902 and 0.086 reaction time. In the second round, Force would have a near perfect reaction time at 0.003-second but the PEAK Chevy would start to lose traction, falling short of eventual race winner Ron Capps’ 3.885.

The battle for NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series championships continues October 28-30th at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
